I looked up
Into the sky
And saw something
Flying by
Just a blur
Against the sky
What was it?
I had thought
But knowledge of it
I had naught
I did not know
But had a thought
It could have maybe
Been an angel
With flawless white
Wings so fragile
A delicate, faultless
Perfect angel
But I wasn’t sure
I could not know
Unless it made another show
Only then
Would I surely know
There! Again!
I saw it budge!
Above the clouds
A tiny nudge
Of slight movement
I saw it budge!
Excitement washed
Through my soul
I felt as if young again
I felt like a foal
Prancing through a field
And loudly sang out my soul
It could have maybe
Been an angel
With flawless white
Wings so fragile
