Toes tread softly upon espial timbers
Each coarse cleat - an exclamation of survival
Tentative gestures emanate new confidences
As rapturous approval encircles vessel's waist
And let fall admonition, and engendered caution
for we have naught but the eye for taking;
So long have we labored to stand in this place
we shall not tarry long nor leave unfulfilled
Heart pulsates wildly in conflagration
Distilling haunted fears of yesteryear
This inferno incloses a matrix, each vein
Urging to perambulate through its radiant surge
And in the rush of crowding bravery
every sinew committed to the line
the heat we share of raging blood
to the mark of our very souls, in this shining moment.

This is a terrific written poem ~ it can keep the attention of any reader! The flow is smooth ~ and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this
Well done!
Thanks for entering this into the "It Takes Two" contest ~ I do appreciate you sharing your work with me ~ you BOTH did a fantastic job! -
very vivid and spellbinding

This is great Laura; thanks for linking me! The vocabulary is fantastic and you built it into a fluid delivery. The corporal intertwining of the souls is evident. The problem with this co-write is I can't tell who wrote what. As a stand alone poem it's wonderful but knowing it's a co-write makes me wonder which writer is responsible for what image.
Love,
Amera

Very nice
I loved the flow and vocab used here; the imagery was very powerful. Higher level vocab, as done here, does not always flow well, but no worries here!

Interesting Concept
I see the joining of two souls and they come together
for a reason. They seek completion, and will not wait or take long. Excitement builds, before walking into the crowd. Strong metaphors, and very deep imagery. This was amazingly creative piece..........novy

I must agree, you are a mighty fine poet. The both of you, I guess should say. I love all of the vocabulary you use(I only had to look up two words). Usually those kinds of words throw off the flow of a poem, but not in this case. This is a great free verse write and I hope you do well in the contest.
