Grey dawn with veiling mist will hide
A wavering sun behind low clouds
with promises to dullest skies:
A harbinger of winter rain.
With lightning flash and thunder's bang
A pounding downpour floods each wash
and dry arroyo with weathered wood,
the flotsam of dead desert growth.
The flooding ends and what is left;
An ozone breath and stains on granite walls.

another beautiful sonnetina (whose rules I haven't figured out yet, but certainly will) ...
elegant vocabulary in company with vivid and colorful imagery make this poem a delightful treat ...
thank you,
