One thing to remember
Once bitten twice shy is a statement true for both girls and guys, who have had relationships fall through. I cannot absolutely guarantee that I did not run into my marriage with my eyes still clouded by the heartbreak of my own lost love. Do not give up on him, but rather take care of yourself such that he no longer feels that he has to take care of you as a brother. Thereby freeing him to see you in a different light, more as a partner on the road of life rather than a younger sibling who needs a mentor. Looking towards your own future regardless of who it is with, shows maturity of thought. Do you both have similar goals? Will your choices in careers be compatible? Generally helps if they are in the same field, or at least semi-connected. Commonality is key. Though having too much in common is dangerous. Yin and Yang theory. Anyway, just a few things to think about. -
