i feel so small
standing at the edge of the world.
my heart in my throat,
i lay on the cool, dry earth
and i peer over into the dark depths.
the misty darkness clears away
and light slowly filters through.
and as i look harder
i blink
open my eyes
then open them again
i see this new world in a different perspective
the trees
the animals
of every shape and size imaginable
roam free and wild
without fear or death
this is a world of hope
and new life
i look behind
and see a war raging
death and fear in the eyes of all.
did i really want that life?
...no...
and so i leave my life behind
and i
............................jump..................................

So many times the thought crosses our minds... what is the point of life... yes there are so many beautiful things in this world but at what cost? The pain and suffering that we have to go through just to reach the end in death with hopefully a few good reasons... I can see why one would jump

Oh man! I loved it, til the very end! I really just do not get suicide from that picture. So, my personal point of view aside, this is a really good wirte. I enjoyed the perspective of the world that you have created, some wonderful imagery as well. I just thought it odd that in one area you mention this is a world of hope of new life and then you end up jumping. Could just be me, but it made no sense. I still enjoyed the read though. Thanks for entering and best of luck!
