The greastest man I never knew

the greatest man i never knew
had very large hands
He didn't have much time for books,
he learned from living off the land.
the greatest man i never knew
he liked animals, big trucks and such.

The greatest man i never knew
fought in a war overseas
a long time ago

The greatest man i never knew
raised four children with his loving wife
and I know for certain for them
he would have gave his life.

the greatest man I never knew
had a son just like him
and how did I know this fathers son
because I called him Dad.

For all the things I do not know about him
Ill learn in the end
when triumphs sound , the sun goes down ,I will see them again.

This was so deep and emotional. The ending is enough to bring tears to eyes. To give such a tribute to your grandfather is so beautiful. I too have never met or even seen a picture of my grandfather. He died on my birthday, the exact day I was born. I was being pushed out of the womb and he was being rushed to the hospital. Ever heard the saying when someone dies someone else is being born? Whatever the case I know he had to be a great man. And your poem actually inspires me to question my parents about my grandpA, AS I NEVER HAVE.

Aww that's beautiful, and yet at the same time so sad. But the ending is just magical and ties the whole thing together so well. This was a good write and I really really enjoyed reading it.

Nice to write a tribute like this to your grandpa. Even if you did not know his long, you will hear about him from you father. Liked the flow and the message of this poem.
