Looking Down From Heaven

LOOKING DOWN FROM HEAVEN

As I look down upon your grief
My heart begins to break
In life, each page turns a new lea,
Sometimes it brings heartache

If you could see the beauty here
And peace that's so serene
Angel voices in skies so fair
Where loved ones can be seen

Heaven is truly a paradise
I found eternal peace
Jesus gave his life to sacrifice
So tears on earth would cease

When white clouds go floating by
Or gentle raindrops fal.
And when the stars light up the sky
My voice will gently cal.

When you miss me, touch your heart
Faith will see you through
When you miss me and fall apart
I am still there with you

Author notes

I wanted to enter this contest for you my friend. You did so much to comfort me in the loss of my son Brian in March. I know what your friend is going through. I hope this comforts her a little. Nothing will take the pain away completely but in time it will ease. Her brother and your son Adam and my son Brian are together now. God Bless you my dear friend and God Bless her and her family.

From the dawn of time and space the heavens have mourned the ugly things that have taken place inside this universe. In linear time suffering is an extended ordeal compelling to experience each dreaded detail of the process. It will be held against the conjurors of matter and energy whose foul objective we can only partly understand. The same goes for an even greater extent for the perpetual guidance of The Light that battles to reclaim our souls. Not as an act of cruelty, but of mercy without end. Those who have had NDE have seen fractions of the beauty of the heavens and none remained the same after the incident. It is perhaps a sign of the heavens to reassure our conditioned minds. The words you wrote were meaningful, the heart from which they came compassionate. Thank you for creating and sharing. Take care,

    U

      Thoughtful Comment

Good morning, Thank you for the amazing comment. You words were so true. God shines His light upon the Earth to guide us home. Some take a shorter path to His door and ever lasting peace as did my son and others. His light never stops shining and it is the love of God we search for that allows us to continue our journey home. God Bless you. Your comment was very comforting and uplifting. Your words shine for they are full of God's ever present and everlasting love.

      Take care,
      Sandy

    Expressed so genuinely...

Thank you Sandy for penning this comforting poem...I'm reading through tears because it makes me think of the beauty and peace of heaven, sometimes in grief that can escape us because we miss our loved one so much...

I remember when your son was called to God's side, I still think of you often, it is so hard to lose a child...and your last stanza comes from a heart of suffered pain and puts joy into mine, I feel my brother near to me when I read these words...

You have embraced me in tender, loving thoughts and I thank you

    Much love
    ~Lilac

Dear AJ, Your comment was lovely and most appreciated. When death comes suddenly and too soon the pain is unbearable. But with faith, family and friends we manage to get through each day one at a time. Bless you my friend.

Wonderful poem sandy... true words of comfort. This reminds me of a song I once knew that was about someone who passed on and had folks praying for his return...but his respose was how could he ask God to return him after seeing the glory of God? Nothing here can compair. Point being, great poem and can take comfort in that they are beyound the suffering of the fall and temporal life.

Thank you Michael. I can only imagine how amazing Heaven is going to be. It is so comforting to know Brian is at such a wonderful place. I am glad I don't have too long to wait to see the beauty for myself. This world is so ready for the second coming.
You take care, God Bless you. Sandy
