If I were dancing on the beach
I could forget that I'd grown old
I could forget the stress of life
If I were dancing on the beach
I could be free
I could be alone and happy
But there isn't a beach in Kansas.
Author notes
Athena of Starlite
I don't live in Kansas...but this is just about longing and being free. I love the ocean, and I think this is how I would feel if I lived that far from the coast.

You kind of already won with this in my previous contest, so I'm going to remove this. But I'd like to read another piece of yours if you would like to enter it.

I really love the twist at the end.
Thank you for your entry,
Best of luck!

oh, I can't imagine what it must be like to never feel the ocean breeze, feel the sand between your toes, smell the salt, hear the waves and the gulls, it's just too wonderful to give up! I live a good hour from the ocean, and I often long to be at the beach, even in the middle of winter when the water is freezing (where I am at least). *shudder* I could never move to Kansas! Thanks for entering this, I liked it a lot
