Early May 07

Early May (07). For any who may be interested, 'Early May' 2006, is typed beneath this one.

May's certainly commenced its tenure now;
If, so far, it's seemed somewhat overcast;
Throughout the month, hopefully, this won't last;
Though fresh green leaves it weaves on ev'ry bough,
It yet achieves sky greyness, to endow.
Still, also, has full-foliage amassed;
Those stark, dark, void branches have been out-classed.
Small cherries, quite emerged, and that's a WOW !!
If, even, they're just formed and miniscule.
Swifts, martins and swallows are back again,
And the yellow Welsh poppies blossom too;
They find their own home locales, as a rule;
Often with those few tulips that remain.
Such is the way that many plants renew.

The call of the cuckoos can now be heard.
Swifts, swallows, martins are commonly seen.
The plum blooms groom back to their small buds green.
Through climates mild have the degrees conferred,
For with warmth those degrees are well concurred.
The tall stretching branches no more are lean,
But decked with a leaf-hued canopy's sheen;
With such the keen canopy's not demurred.
Fresh flowers blossoming bowers enrich;
In many tints have their petals unfurled.
Often an odd one peeps out of a niche.
Or from beneath a stone with leaves uncurled.
Song birds rivalling with varying pitch,
As though striving, with tunes, to throng the world.
