Poetry, is expression
of my feelings and my views.
I like to write on nature
and topics in the news.
I write about the sad times,
lost family members, I hold dear.
I try to be objective,
but as I write, I shed a tear.
If I put it down on paper,
maybe they will know I care,
and this anguish, that I'm feeling,
won't be so hard to bear.
I write some odes on humour;
I often tread this path.
I'm happy if you read them
and hope they make you laugh.
Then I'll know, it's all worthwhile,
to express my feelings thus
and getting verses into print,
has got to be a plus.

Without any apparent poetic pretension very simply you have told about the many reasons why you write poems. Thanks for entering this contest.

Passion
WOW I was really blown away by this piece one that can write so much in every word that they write on paper....
The passion that one gets when they write can never be replaced.Nor can one express more emotion then they do on paper....
Great Write...
