Why is it
that we preach so much for what we believe,
only to disown those values the moment we're challenged,
having never really practiced them at all?
How is it
that we can be so phased by the smallest of things,
yet so unaffected by the slaughter of thousands happening at that very moment?
What is it
that makes humans so susceptible to cruelty,
clawing our way to the top with the most degenerative of ways
and destroying the good in people that makes life worth living?
Where is it
stated that certain men are born better,
a surreal world where white rules with superiority
because at some point in history we made ourselves prone to despicable lifestyles
as we continue existence in a society based on prejudice and supression?
Who is it
that decided anyone not white, heterosexual, and devoted to our country
was responsible for the fall of our country?
Many fight so loyally for this country,
this lifestyle we lead where white is God's way,
patriotically shunning anyone who disagrees with the actions of the government,
only to back down when realizing the multitude of people killed
for the cause of pushing our beliefs and ways on a country completely foreign to us,
where the death toll doesn't matter so long as those dead are members of a Democratic government.
Why do we fail to see
how miserable we are making these people with our superiority, being able to predict
what it is they want in a country
where the person responsible for destroying their lives can't even visit to see
who is truly affected by all of this?
