damned

if all men are created equal
why does society divide its people?
that is a simple question. with a
simple answer. society believes
in majority rule. its called democracy.
it does not believe in the majority of one.
the individual. society does not believe
in the bill of rights, if one man rights
did not fit in with the majority of
what society believes needs to be done,
then he must sacrifice a freedom for
the common good of all.
i ask you, who is society?
it is a faceless, nameless, crowd.
it cant vote. it pays no taxes
yet it rules through
the bought and paid for press and
corporate government.
the people be damned. individuals are
just another natural resource wasted
for profit.
why does society divide us?
simple to rob us blind. not just our
money. but our freedoms, one at a
time. ask Greece. ask Rome.
America had two presidents that
gave a warning when they left office.
George Washington said,"Beware foreign
entanglements. Eisenhower said,"Beware
the Military Industrial Complex."
America listened to neither.
that is why we are called a Democracy
by society and government politicians,
instead of a Federal Republic.
the individual be damned.

    Really right.

Good rhetoric questions and ones that need to be made. I can say now I wish they had a platinum medal because many pieces in this certainly are worth more than one trophy. Thanks for the entry.

WoW! Lots of food for thought here. I like it. Political poems are difficult, in that, it can either stir a huge can of debates, or it can fuel the 'individual' or ie. 'common citizen' to think about how much or how little he or she truly matters, or has voice in his/her social structure, and network. Because it comes from one person's views and thoughts, experiences, heart and mind, it cannot truly be criticized. For to criticize this, would be trying to inhibit a freedom of expression. Something as poets we value the most. Thumbs up! Thank you for sharing these thoughts!

SOciety has deaf ears and blind eyes till it is too late and then they sit in wonder thinking where is all went wrong. Point the finger of blame anywhere but where is belongs for they have the superior knowledge and know they are right> Just look at how the pages of history have told us how the native people of the americas were treated when the 'white man' settled their countries or set up the colony of convicts here. There is much to answer for in their lack of wisdom yet at the time they were doing it right still think they are. This is what they left behind so ingrained in minds of men chasing the wealth of the dollar they forget the priceless wealth of man yeah jumping off the soapbox before the angel kicks my butt brilliantly said and a pleasure to read good luck in the contest.

WOW, I see your soapbox is working quite well too
This will make people think and so they should, we lump everyone into a 'society' yet we divide political parties...now why is that I wonder?? Love, C
