Of dealing with us
The way it tells us things
And shows us who really cares
I never really thought about it
But it is definately true
How do I know this?
Well, I met you.
You see, we talked a lot
And we had a lot in common
Then you told me something
That shattered my heart
You wanted to die
Oh God, please don't let that happen
Let her see she's too young
Let her know that she means something
Let her know that I care
So I went to the church
We gather together
And we prayed loud
As my own tears fell to the ground
I cried for you
I'm not ashamed to say that
Then my wish came true
Life came into you
Finally you told me
Just how you felt
That you loved me
Yet, we're many states apart
It was strange
I loved you too
We talked all night
Smiling the whole time
But things got worse
Our seperation
Ate at out desires
For our love to each other
So we decided for the better
And you cried your tears
Into my ear
Over the phone
I tried not to cry too
It was a hard thing to do
I told you please don't worry
I'll be fine - I'm not
I acctually feel worse without you
I know we're good friends now
But I still feel something
Something about you
Now you like another guy
A guy I don't really approve of
But it's not my place, I guess
I just don't want to see you hurt
You've been through a lot
And you're going through more
I want to be there for you
But I'm so far away
I'm always here for you
If you are there for me
You can always cry on my shoulder
And I'll hold you close in my arms
So that was our story
Just thought I'd share
Remember, you are very special to me
And if the world seems to turn it's back on you
I will always care.
Author notes
Dedicated To Someone very dear and special to me in my heart. She's a great person to talk to, a wonderful friend to have, and she means a whole lot to me. Probably more than she'll ever come to know.

wow...
that's deep -
Having dealt with LD relationships I can tell you that they suck and rarely work, especially if there is little chance of changing the distance. Friendships seem to be ok LD but love, rarely does. I am glad that you were able to retain your friendship and who knows what the future will bring? Vic and i started LD but we knew it was right so early tha we simply took it to the next step and we have been together over 2 yrs now and still going stronger than ever!
Best of luck in this and all of your endeavors.

deep this took alot of guts to write

Your heart and emotion were evident in every line. This situation is similar to one my friend went through. It is hard to keep an intimate relationship without a physical presence, but even more difficult to let that person find another. I think you last line says it all "I will always care". I am happy that you joined "Just Because" and I look forward to reading more of your poetry. Peace, Liz
