The colors of life
Showing facets of our soul
From blackened spirits
To hearts of gold.
Red is the blood
That runs in our veins
Our determination
Padlocked with chains.
Yellow is the light
That saves us all
The light that catches us
Right before we fall.
Orange is the color
That helps us heal.
Unleashes a power
That makes dreams real.
Green is the envy
In the hearts of men
The jealous nature
Again and again
Blue is the serenity
That calms our spirit
It can always be seen
But you can never hear it.
Purple is the peace
We need in this place
Because the loss of love
You can never erase
Black is the blind
That hinders our sight.
It gives us a chance
To stand and fight
These colors are ours
For any and all
To learn the life
It's length so small.

billy, i don't know HOW you do it, but you get me to look at the world a completely different way everytime i read your poems!!! :] you are so DEEP and it shows in your poems 100%. i looove this one, it's of the best poems I've ever read. and no, im not just saying that, haha. i loved the way this flowed and you may be young, but you seem to know a lot more about life than most adults do, lol
