All those weeks you sat with me
I knew you were there, you held my hand,
it felt as though I were in a dream
my consciousness would not expand.
I heard your voice as you whispered low,
the anguish written on your face,
the time had come to let me go
to seek, to find my resting place.
You trembled as you turned the switch
and cried as my heart ceased to beat,
your tears caressed my still warm cheeks,
you kissed my mouth, our love complete.
The time had come my sweetest love,
for my body to be laid to rest
in the earth, where all life springs from,
please, weep no more or be depressed.
I’ve been beside you everyday
my love for you will never cease,
I’ve kissed those tears from your gentle eyes
at last I will find my peace.
I’ve been very near as you’ve gone through life,
my angel powers watching over you,
my wings protecting you from harm,
