I lost a button from my jacket,
The needles I found in a packet.
I`ll sew it back on right darn quick
The way my wife does, simple trick.
First of all to thread the eye
Squint and look up to the sky.
Probe and push the cotton end
All it does is twist and bend.
I know, she sometimes gives a lick
So the cotton does not stick.
Drat and blast in sheer frustation
Curse the needle to damnation.
At last at last, the cotton`s through
How much to cut? A yard should do.
Where`s that button, it was here?
I had it close by, really near.
There it is upon the floor
Rolled nearly to the open door.
Start to sew, the cotton twists
Stabbed myself upon both wrists.
Phew, at last the job is done
It did not seem a lot of fun.
My wife comes in, she gives a smirk
You`ve used white cotton, stupid jerk.

Quite funny!
I hate sewing because of the eyesight problems that come when one is "more mature"! The biggest hurdle is getting the needle threaded...enough to try the patience of Job! I just went through this routine last week only to have lost the button and then spent an hour to find another suitable button! Loved the poem and the topic for which I so identify! Welcome to Wise Poets and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Ha,ha,ha
This was very funny, unfortunately it isn't as funny when it is happening to me! These days if I am lucky enough to find the thread, any color will do

this is a good example of the many things that frustrate us each and every day. sometimes the small things really build up. good luck in my contest.

Oh my! this has to be the funniest, and most clever read for me in a while. I absolutely love it! Tried to give you six applaudes, but the dang thing only allows 3,,,how frustrating...^o^,^o^,^o^<<<

Ha ha, this had me in stitches, if you'll excuse the pun! This poem is so typical of me and my poor eyesight. I can't even see what I'm doing with one of those needle threaders. Good rhyming as always and a very enjoyable read, to put me in a good mood for work!
