Is Falling Good or Bad?

I who of late have not fallen
I see my colleagues who have fallen
who are in it so deeply
who feel the power to do anything
who say that nothing is impossible
whose hearts are exposed completely

I see the other person in their lives
this inspiration behind their every move
I see this other person is just the same
the same sense of well being
the same sense of being at peace with the world
the same sense of emotional vulnerability

They now share that special something
that look they give each other
that warmth in their smiles
that need to physically stay in touch with each other
that teasing tete a tete before a goodbye kiss
that adoring comment after the departure
that anticipation of seeing each other again
that spark of constant interest in the other
that love between the two of them

The love
the love that feels like it will last forever
the love that feels undeniably good
the love that feels like nothing could tear you two apart

And something could rip you two apart
and you could do something stupid
and you could offend the other
and you could fall for another
and you could lose trust
and you could lose interest
and you could feel hopelessly in love
and you could lose a friend
and you could get hurt
and you could be crushed
and you could take forever to get over it
and you could fall without healing
and you could make another mistake
and you could miss the other
and you could feel incapable of continuing

BUT YOU COULD TAKE A CHANCE AND FALL ANYWAY...
