Some think I show signs of senility.
Though I am older, there is no doubt,
There is a strength in me throughout.
I am not yet ready for a nursing home's cot;
Senile? I have to say: 'Fraid not!
My bones may crackle when I move,
I can no longer cut a dancing groove.
I am almost out of working knees,
I sometimes forget where I've put my keys;
But my wisdom may help you quite a lot,
You may doubt that, but I say: 'Fraid not!
Gravity is certainly an enemy now,
Parts falling further than should be allowed.
Wrinkles to rival a sun dried raisin,
Gray coming so fast it is amazin'.
I am showing signs of the life I have wrought
But is it over? 'Fraid not!
I heard someone say I was like an old rope
No matter the weather, I manage to cope
Still hanging in and holding tight
Though I might look a walking fright
No matter the appearance, forget it not:
The strength still found within a frayed knot!

Thx for the smile,

but ah well, my mind and heart are still young so I deal with it!
