She's more than a memory
But less than a spirit
She thinks herself my enemy
But I won't let myself hear it
whisper, whisper
I can't bear to let go;
She's stopped holding on
It's done forever, that I know:
Our friendship's really gone
whipser, whisper
But part of her I think misses me
Because she comes back sometimes
Even though she's like a memory
Locked up in my mind
whisper, whisper
Every night as I wait
For her to return
I cry when I think of all her hate
That I never even earned.
whisper, whisper
Oh, come back, come back, my friend
Find your place in my head
Friend, remind me of all the places we've been;
And all the things we said
whisper, whisper
And there we go, I feel her now
Causing sweet chaos in my mind
I don't care who, what, or how
Because I'm going back in time
whisper, whisper
She's telling me things I need to hear
Things I've wondered for so long
As she whispers in my ear
"You did nothing wrong."
whisper, whisper
It's a ghost of her, she's not real
And someday I'll have to move along
But for now I'm happy with how I feel
And I'll keep holding on.
But less than a spirit
She thinks herself my enemy
But I won't let myself hear it
whisper, whisper
I can't bear to let go;
She's stopped holding on
It's done forever, that I know:
Our friendship's really gone
whipser, whisper
But part of her I think misses me
Because she comes back sometimes
Even though she's like a memory
Locked up in my mind
whisper, whisper

I cry when I think of all her hate
That I never even earned.
whisper, whisper
Oh, come back, come back, my friend
Find your place in my head
Friend, remind me of all the places we've been;
And all the things we said

And there we go, I feel her now
Causing sweet chaos in my mind

Author notes
I hope you like it. As you can probably tell, I chose the option with the titles..."Ghost of Her." That one kinda just stuck in my head all day, so I wrote this...But it's kinda option one, too. It's about my best friend...or ex best friend. Whatever option you want to count it under.

I really liked this. I like the way it ended on a slightly happier note and I like the flow. It seems to not to fit to a conventional pattern but it reads easily and flows along well. I like the way you used the title, 'Ghost of her' automaticaaly makes me think of someone who has passed away but this poem takes the title a little less literally and I think it really fits well.

Unique.
I liked this one. It wasn't really...coventional. At first I just thought she was a friend who had ditched you, leaving you broken hearted, then I thought she was just evidence of insanity, but then she's a ghost, a fantasy, what needs' she of reason? Very well done. I like the inspriration you drew from the title. I wish you the best of luck and give you all my thanks for entering. Keep up the good work. God bless.
