In love with love 7

After graduation everything seemed like it had just stopped. What more was there after this?  She was alone, no close friends, no boyfriend, no college to look forward to going to.  Nothing at all.  So summer went by faster then she could have thought, and she dated a guy here and there, but none of them seemed good enough.  She hadn't thought about Zach in a long time now.  She tried to forget because of how hurtful it was.

Then an opportunity came that seemed wonderful.  To go to beauty school in North Carolina.  She had nothing and no one to stay for, why would she stay?  She planned to leave, she packed her whole life, her room, her clothes, makeup, and shoes.  Everything.  It hurt her in a way, but when she came back she'd have a career waiting for her.

So she thought.

Eva attended one last football game 3 days before she left for North Carolina.  To say goodbye to everyone she would miss, and that would miss her.  People cried, got upset, and reminded her of one person that she wouldn't get to see that night.  Zach.  Everyone asked if he had known that she was leaving.  She let everyone else know that they hadn't talked but once all summer.  Zach called her to let her know he had gotten a cell phone and gave her his number so they could hang out sometime.  Of course that never happened, but the gesture was nice.

At the football game one of her friends insisted that she was going to call Zach and tell him that Eva was leaving.  Of course, Eva thought it was stupid, why would he care?  So her friend did indeed call and tell Zach to come see her before she left, but Zach was at the beach with his family...and wouldn't be home for a few days.  But as fate would have it, he came home the day before she left, and he did want to see her.

He called her and told her he was home, and that same night he would come over after work to see her.  She nearly died.  She wanted to see him, but then again she didn't.  It would bring to surface all of those feelings that she tried so damn hard to supress.  She wanted to feel him, and see him, so she didn't think twice about saying yes.

Once he got to her house it was as if they had never stopped talking.  They jumped right back into what it used to be. They talked about the summer, the vacations they took, the places they went, the concerts they saw.  They still were so different, but had a world of things in common.  And as he left that night one last time she realized this was it, again.  She wouldn't ever see him again and it killed her.  They hugged goodbye, yet again, and this time she knew it was for real.

He wouldnt call her, she wouldnt' call him.  It would hurt too much.

So the next morning she left for North Carolina, packed her things in the car, and started a long drive there with her mom.  Once she got there, that night, she had a missed call on her phone.

Zach.

She didn't realize it, so she listened to the voicemail and he was calling to make sure she made it there ok, and to call him so he knew.

As her heart fluttered she realized she did indeed leave something important behind.  Now all she's gotta do is go back and get it...
