An Angels Confessions To A Friend

My friend, I am glad you weren't here the last few months.
I am glad you were abroad, not around to see me fall.

You look surprised at the sight of me.
A long dead friend, a new apparition.

Desecrated grave, I have returned.
I want to tell you, where I ventured.

Listen, my pain.
Listen, my story.

My glowing wings, your disbelief.
Your thoughts of me, so weak?

My pain grow as I see you.
You are scared, scared of me...

You were my gold, my taste of sweetness.
You watch me now, my pale princess.

I tell you of the path, the path I chose.
Those last few months, when you were abroad.

Listen, my pain.
Listen, my story.

Selling the substance, illegal action.
The others saw, the betrayal I made.

In the dusk, the forming of a battle.
My only choice, to kill or be killed.

So weak, I cut his life-cord.
His blood showered my face as colored rain.

My pale princess, do not be afraid.
I would never hurt you, just listen and stay.

The strange path I wondered from my first kill.
To the left, another nightly thrill.

A girl of the night, her beauty did shine.
She followed me, kept me warm inside.

The next morning, in a doze I awoke.
Her cold body, lying in my bed.

Listen, my pain.
Listen, my story.

I did not remember the night before.
So weak, I decided to end it.

My window, so high.
The street, so soft.

My frail body was crushed, but I survived.
The doctors called it a miracle, my 'accidental' fall.

Lovely roses on my skin, dark and red, just like sin.
Scorched and scarred, I begged forgiveness from above.

As you see, I was granted my forgiveness.
Glowing wings with a halo above.

My fingers touch your skin.
You freeze, but allows me.

I can see that you long for me, my earthly body.
Mammon's curse is laid upon me, as I realize the mutual attraction.

My wings wither, my halo fades.
Your face is filled with tears, my dying fear.

I tell you not to worry, that we will meet again.
But you realize we shan't, as I sink to the ground.

Ashes, mud and dust is all that remains.
You keep it in a jar, just to keep the memories sane.

My last words, keep you from insanity.
My last words, chosen in haste.

Listen, no more pain.
Listen, my story ends.

I accidently clicked onto this and now am compelled to tell you what I think. Did you get your poetry grounding in writing police reports? What a drab piece!

    Listen, no more pain.
    Listen, my story ends.

Got that part right. Let your writing flow more and leave a little room for your reader to imagine. It is such a pretentious style that it makes it almost impossible to read. You need also to take your reader emotional through the piece without spelling out how they should be feeling- they can do that themselves.
