I never saw it comming
But how could I?
My previous engagement
Left me here to die
So how on earth would I ever have seen
That I'd smile 'cause your flirtings were never a scene?
That I'd fall for the beauty never shown from within?
That I'd love you far more, and my life would begin -
With you
All in denial, oh strong, sweet denial
But already I feel my feet on the aisle
And your sweet yellow core, and your red rose tip
Keep my eyes and my heart blissfully in your grip
In the prison of falling, I'd never let go
In the search of the words that you'll never show
I'm lost in your world, the wonderous place
That once was merely a dream of embrace
So how in my world would I ever have known
That all that was yellow would be red, for it's grown?
That all would be red for the words have now shown?
That all that is sure is I'm not on my own -
With you

I couldn't limit it to one rose, I hope it's okay..

rockin' awesome
wow. i have always admired your poetry and your skill at writing it. this just confirms your talent yet again. i love it. amazingly enough i could apply this poem to my own life and it would be spot on accurate. i wish i could've thought to write something like this myself. beautiful words, beautiful rhyme, beautiful flow, beautiful story. for me, it seems of sadness and longing grown into love rather than just love as some would interpret. i'm glad i've reinstated AP as a part of my life because it would've been to my own loss not to have read this poem. thank you for inspiring me with your talent and for helping me begin to develop mine. wonderful write, dear one

Kick Ass!!
I'm a little disappointed, in the fact that there isn't like ten other comments about this one. It hit home. I can imagine things probably just came to a head on while writing it. Things don't have to be long to get the point across, things don't have to rhyme to get the meaning. I can relate a lot to this one. Like this one little part "I never saw it coming." We never do. Good and bad. So that little part right there says it all. I could have just said keep up the good work, but that would have been a little to fucking boring to read. Kick ass write.
