Open Arms

This house has been so empty, so cold.
Ever since you left.
Wanting and needing to hold you,
Wanting you near.
Life just isn't the same.

Remember the nights where we laid in bed,
Feeling each others heart beats,
Yours beating with mine.
But one word ruined everything, sincere.
Our love seemed to be blind.

So now I come to you,
With open arms.
Hiding nothing, please believe my words.
Now can you see,
Your love means so much to me.

I chose the song "Open Arms" by Journey. I love it so much. If I win or not, I'll still love the song, and love the poem I wrote for it ^_^.

    A great use of the song you chose. I liked the sentiments behind this poem and you crafted it very well. It has a real vulnerability - the idea of going to someone with arms open. I hope you do well in the contest.
