My Sweet Hang Man
How I love to sit with you
and watch you sway
The wind blows and you smile at me
A source of comfort from my sorrows.
My Sweet Hang Man
How I love to tell you of my days
And you listen quietly
A place of solitary acceptance.
My Sweet Hang Man
A romance that can never be
But a love for you
I'll always have
And I smile at you
And you smile at me
As the wind blows
And you sway in perfect harmony.
Oh My sweet hang man
I know that you love me as I do you.

Funny how a noose will make a bad man look much better... Three bunnies for this!

This is gentle and pretty, almost wistful. The love of friendship is a valuable thing and something that will bring you an unbeatable warmth. I love the final stanza, it holds so much depth and feeling.
Thanks for sharing.

Cool shit.
I dig it, man/ma'am. I really like the whole vibe of the "you" of the poem re-humanizing the remains of this dead man. There's this aura of reconstructing a good person from the blank slate of somebody who clearly fucked up right good, and I like it a lot. Well done.
