I remember making dainty chains of clover flowers white
And placing them upon your head, you smiled with such delight.
I remember selling lemonade for just a dime a cup
We thought for sure that we'd get rich and buy a little pup.
I remember catching fireflies and saving them in a jar
And turning cartwheels down the hill, and climbing monkey bars.
I remember playing Barbies under covers late at night
When Mom would tell us "Go to bed, and don't turn on the light!"
I remember telling secrets and making solemn pinky swears
And learning to wear make-up and put curlers in our hair.
I remember hearing of the time you got your first sweet kiss
And telling you that you did fine, even though it wasn't bliss.
I remember crippling pain of my first love when snatched away
And crying in your knowing arms, believing I'd be okay.
I remember always finding solace in your cheerful smile
And returning it to you with words of strength through every trial.
And as we venture out anew with loving hope to live in
I thank you, precious sister, for all the memories you've given.

This piece is truly brilliant. It was just magical. The repetition works so well, your wording is wonderful and rhyming seems so naturaly half the time it feels like it just happened by chance. It flows excellently, and it really shows the sweeter side of siblings. Keep up the stunning work!

I absolutely loved this, truly loved this. How happy it would make me to hear that my friends could be this close. You and your sister are very very lucky, and don't you ever forget it. Good luck in this contest, and God bless you.

Memories of a sibling can be touching and warm but not always: I remember when my sister stole my favourite dinky toy and I had to thump her very hard. Ah the joys of family life!
