she wants to play in the toybox,
and forget those other things out there.
tigger will be bouncing about
happy that she's here,
he's been lonely too,
and I'll dance around the room with Pooh
and get my castle out.
We'll play with knights and ladies,
I will slay all her dragons,
and climb her pretty hair
I'll wake her with a kiss
I'll find the glass slipper
we'll pretend that we're in love,
and we'll journey to the Wood,
and find Eeore's always missing tail.
and I hope for just a little while
the pain will fade from her eyes
and she will make me smile,
since we will be where the sparrows sing,
and the world will have no sting.

How sweet, with a tinge of fear for the big bad world. Like Tao of Pooh and Te of Piglet. Interesting reads. Sorry, I digress...it's soft and the pink background definitly suits it.

Quaint piece, haven't read a piece of such subtle voice from you as of yet, or just now. But, it is lovely, and it has a child-like (and not meaning the content) feel to it, it has a playful feel, as if some things are wrong but everything will be all right.
Lovely.

I adore Pooh and Eeyore's my favorite :-) In fact, my little stuffed animal of Eeyore sits ontop my computer monitor to remind me not to have so many gloomy days...
Enjoyed this, nicely done,

I love this poem for the exquisite simplicity of its language.
Great. Thank you, Maria -
"Cute" would be too dismissive and would ignore the import of the last stanza and the sting. The consistency of the tone through the first three stanzas, coupled with the child's "and, and, and.." is marvelous and creates a pleasant bubble that we come to care about, so we fear the sting too. Lovely piece.

Nicely written. I especially like the last stanza:
"and I hope for just a little while
the pain will fade from her eyes
and she will make me smile,
since we will be where the sparrows sing,
and the world will have no sting." -
lol, this is just soooooooo cute. ~~~~Val
