Like a single flower bud
alone I thrive in the dirt
waiting for a hint of light
to soothe away the hurt
sprinkles of dew glisten
moisture wraped in velvet touch
a taste of sweet succulent earth
he used to love so much
Unwrapping the deep petals
he swore he'd still get in
climbing with a fervor
that I haven't felt again
How I yearn for his dewy kisses
just a brush against my silken flesh
to have his love again
without his hateful thresh

wow. this was truely was a very nice poem. it was short and sweet but SO full of emotion. I really like that! I like how you can get across so much but say so little. the word choice really hits something. I can feel your emoiton ebbing throught hte words of text... thats gotta be good for something! I alos liked the fact that it had to do wiht nature. everything that you felty was related back to nature and expressed creatively.

I feel that this is a very nice introduction/mood-setter to your poem. not only is it well written, but I feel htat it is the deepest stanza in the entire write.

Very emotional indeed.
The pain was felt as I read this one. Why people hurt someone else I'll never know why. Especially the ones who love them the most. Very good write. The structure and rhyme was effortless and made the reading that much easier. So you from Az too huh?
