I’m the brolly, ‘she’ forgot.
You know, the usual tale.
Carried here and carried there,
in case of rain or hail.
Yesterday was just the same.
Taken for a ride.
Then every time the sun came out,
my nuisance ‘she’ would chide.
I’m just not appreciated.
I’m the one that they forget.
The only time they yearn for me,
is when they’re soaking wet.
They were having tea and cream cakes,
while I lie here on the floor.
Then they see that flipping sunshine,
and they’re heading out the door.
So once again I’m cast aside.
Kicked underneath a chair.
I know I’m in a tea-shop,
but I’ve no idea where.
I’m hoping now, that some old dear,
will have a lucky find.
Then I’ll be treated kindly.
No longer left behind.
I know that I’m just dreaming.
Feeling sorry for my self.
But next time that it is raining,
I'll be missing from the shelf.
And boy, won’t she be sorry.
From the hairdresser she’ll trot,
and when it’s hissing down she’ll yearn,
for the brolly she forgot.

A really sweet little poem, amusing and entertaining. it flows really well. It really captures the irony of unbrellas you only ever have them when you don't need them. Thank you for your entry.

I'm really not sure what a brolly is, umbrella maybe? I could be completely wrong, but that's the impression I got.
I like the oddness and feeling to this. -
Ahh yes, we often cast our Brollies aside, which is cruel considering they save another £10 at the hairdressers. Such a sad tale of a lonely Brolly that was left behind, at least s(he) will get revenge on their master now

Awwww , this is so cute
This is such a clever write. What a cute little brolly she is too. I wouldn't forget her
I'd be happy if it actually rained and I had the need for a brolly actually
Well done and good luck in this contest
