Cricket so you are
The night's music maker
That the child sought to see
You were never found
Each time the lamp looked you
But the noisiest angle was sure
You tease the hoping child
Each time you paused when desired
And your resuming note tones didn't change
Some take you for alarming screamer
The little chirper that brings a day's mood
The natural clock to cock keeping your visage
Such waving signal srings
Do you truly play cymbal wings
To sound clean and clear at sun's silence?
Leaping monotonous cricket
The child found melody in your zeal
Will you lull or hip-up the engaging guts?
Cricket so you are
The night music maker
That the child sought to see!
