A still pool, glistening
far below
reflects fingers of light upon
an ancient arched bridge.
That she is here,
and can observed,
proves her welcome
for none who are not
could see.
This high valley cut deep
with castle carved
in mountain stone
bids sanctuary
to the weary when worthy.
Living sparkles shimmer
like shooting stars
to dip and dart
all about her
as fairies acknowledge.
Tall astride golden saddled
white horse,
Atherian’s Elvin prince,
leads a procession
to accompany
Distant princess
now abandoned
she is indeed
weary, hunted
to the need of sanctuary.
She stumbles,
stepping across the bridge’s
apex
the world outside dims
as pursuers pass by
unaware.

Enchanting and so magical. Its a tale just like the days of old. Very well done I love it! Thanks for entering!

very romantic
Your words speak of a very enchanted land. I like the romance you have written into your poem. So sad that she is an abandoned Princess, but luckily she can find sancturary across the bridge.
Thank you for entering this contest, and good luck!
