how is a duck?

how simple and surreal
the reality that is nothing and yet
the answer lies in the relative observation of the mind
the teacher is looking to me for the answer

but all i can do is wait silently

for my mind is not yet able

and enlightenment is far from me

 

disappointment at the silence

but inside perhaps

a smile

for this one knows more than the foolish companions

who spoke what they do not know

    I like it

    humility is not in the observer of foolish companions
    any more than disappointment is in the teacher. Who smiles..

      the teacher smiles i think...i was thinking of the buddhist idea of a koan. i think i made another poem called "koan" that explains the idea. ^_^

    hmm.. i was thinking about duck, the creature.. and the verb duck. i was also thinking about duck, duck, goose. seems to have more than one interpretation here. *shrugs
