The world's got their ears covered
With their hands as I scream.
They won't lower them for me
'Till I fall back in the dream
Until I forget what I've discovered and
Walk the path laid for me.
I was struck in an instant
With the last frame of the scene,
The last thread that unveleiled the world's reality.
But the moment I awoke,
It began to drift out to sea,
And the more that I chased it,
The further it eluded my reach.
'Till I forgot what had woke me,
And I silenced my screams
I laid back to the bed that was made just for me.
The blankets were placed back over my face
And I returned to REM with an uneasy grace.
But it wasn't too long 'till my disease was done
And I took up my harmony in the interminable song.
Just another of the sheep
That you count as you sleep
Now that my individual mind is buried and gone.
