These Two Dared Kilimanjaro and Won:
W. Peter Sanci May6 / 2007
My friend Pat and her husband Tom, did an amazing thing, this past summer.
They went to distant Africa and they climbed the famous Mount Kilimanjaro, if they couldn’t make it,
It would definitely be a bummer.
They started to get themselves organized a whole
Year in advance.
Pat said she spent most of her time like she was in a trance.
They did this not for themselves of course, but to raise money for a needy cause.
And the name of this cause is “ ROAR ” Realize
Opportunities to Advance Research ! Which has many flaws.
A very good cause it is as well. And they did it without
breaking any laws.
Pat is a trainer at my local Y. She runs our Parkinson
Program we have there.
She’s pretty tough, if you get on her bad side you haven’t a prayer.
Her husband Tom, must love her a lot, to go that high up, where it’s not very hot, you have to really take care.
But their a really crazy pair, they’re already planning
Their next adventure, off to the rain forests of Costa Rica I think.
I wish them well in whatever they do, I know they will
Succeed.
Although I’m sure I can hear Tom plead.
Not again dear please.
Author notes
Well let me tell you, Pat and her hsband Tom are real and they really climbed Mt Kilimanjaro last July. I chose to write this poem about them because I admire what they did so much. And they did it for others.

such a cute ending. it's not the hubby dragging the hun to climb. it's the other way round~
"If they couldn't make it, it would defiantly be a bummer."
that line really set the reading for me. the IF and i was like ~wow~ "he's telling us this awesome story, and it's not even completely done being awesome. he has yet to tell us that they made it" kind of feeling.
luck with this one.
i donno if you can win two cups in one contest... but i'll see you around.
