An Angel's Prayer

Today an Angel will be born . .

To become a messenger in God’s world

She or He will be anointed . .

And then God’s secrets are unfurled 

They’ll be taught  . .how to be angelical

And how to watch and care for us . .

To teach us how not to take things for granted

And in when adversity . . not to make a fuss 

When our turn . . Not all of us will qualify . .

Though we’re duty bound to try . .

Of course we won’t be punished if we can’t

There’ll be other opportunities bye and bye  

But we must all try to become Angels

For it is the next step in God’s plan

First overcome our Earthly sins . . .  

And then to progress . . if we can 

There is no reason we ourselves can’t make it

God gives us all the ingredients

We just need to respect God’s omnipotence

And be sincere and obedient 

We don’t know when our chance will come

So we should always be alert  

Always be aware of near temptations

Don’t give the devil chance to subvert  

 Yes . .Today an Angel will be born

Rejoice . . let them lead the way for me and you

Their charisma will shine out like a beckon

And their consecration filter through  

So take advantage of this happening

Don’t let today be . . just another day

Thank God for all that’s righteous

Oh . . And don’t forget to pray
