Child Abuse

I can't stop the pain.
I can't stop the tears.
The yelling of her voice is ringing in my ears.
I hear her feet stomping down the hall.
And my bedroom door slams against the wall.
She finds me cowerding by the bed.
With her large fists she hits me in the head.
I try to push her back and hide,
but instead received a blow to my side.
By the time I try to ask why,
She has already taken a belt to my eye.
As I fall she throws hard punches to my legs.
"Mommy! Please! No!" , I beg.
When she finally leaves, I quietly pray.
Why does my life have to be this way.

Author notes

this is what my life used to be like. many times have i faced situations such as written in the poem above. the above was actually one of those episodes that i still have vividly in my mind taken place when i was around 12 or 13.

    Huggles

Abuse is a terrible thing to endure. All people deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and honor. I'm thankful that your life is no longer that way. (hugs)

thanks my little squishy. my life is goin pretty well right now. thanks to my father who took me away from that hell hole when i was 13. now i live pretty comfortably with my dad and step mom. my step mom is more of a mom to me than anyone. however i dont call her "mom" just because when i say that word, it brings back terrible thoughts. but life is good, life is great. must treasure each second of it.
