Your skin is white as paper, creased and folded
So you are more wrinkles than anything else.
And how I am tired of the brief soliloquies.
Your forked tongue mangles every word,
And I cannot understand a thing that you say.
Your eyes glint red. Or maybe they are more pink,
Like the petal of some flower,
Delicate and abandoned, shed in the fury
Of some wind. Helpless and trembling,
You are cast where you may and,
More often than not, you drag me along.
Oh, you are not so old, I see that now.
You are only wasting away faster than
I thought you would. The years have multiplied
And weigh heavy on your shoulders,
So that you are stooped.
Not even Atlas had so heavy a load
To carry as this one, for yours are
The hands that have mistreated my heart.
Author notes
Random thought: I wish I was 14...I can't wait the few weeks 'til my bday...14 just sounds so much more awesomer than 13. I know, I am like a tota weirdo...
Please tell me what you think

Ooh...new poem from you eh? I was intrigued.
Yeah, 14 is way awesomer than 13. 14s like hellz yeahhhh im cool (lol).
anyways, *coughs* back to being professional.
the lines "Your forked tongue mangles every word,/And I cannot understand a thing that you say" reminds me of Plath's "Daddy", with the lines "I never could talk to you/the tounge stuck in my jaw/it stuck in a barb wire snare/ich, ich, ich, ich/i could hardly speak", except a reversal of roles. (I'm reading waaay too much Plath lol everything reminds me of her work! *aah*)
I also love the line "Not even Atlas had so heavy a load". The last line ended differently than I thought it would for some reason, yet I liked the ending anyways.
A "Wow" write, as always sweetheart!
