Waiting

There is a crystal sheen upon the sea
a silver stream which rests and shivers
upon the dark luminous waters
where all is silent. A spirit hovers
seeing the crystal light,
the pathway across the water;
seeing the crinkle of waves
so small in the calm night. A spirit waits
to enter another body
while the one on earth
journeys towards the waiting one.

A spirit mingles: two in one
removing time and space
yet seeing with human gaze.

Goodness, such great images. I wonder where the water is, if it indeed has a physical location. It is beautiful and serene, just as I would hope for a place between lives. Sweet, well done.

I saw an old movie like this once...a boxer came back into the body of a miserable rich man and eventually righted the wrongs done by the rich fellow.

It's not so much reincarnation as it is recycling.

    Beautifully written btw.

Intriguing poem! I've read that when a person is inebriated, it is very easy for a spirit to enter their body (that might explain why people are hardly recognizable as themselves when intoxicated).

Well written! Good Luck in the contest!

    Dear Joy,
I believe completely in what you've written, having had experiences with spirits, sometimes in meditation and sometimes at night as I'm dozing off to sleep, I feel someone stroking my hair, and one of my passed family has their hand on my wrist, possibly to check my pulse is beating ok. I'd like to believe it's my deceased son stroking my hair.
    A beautiful read my friend.

dear Joyce, it's very interesting to read your poem as I know that it happens. Spirit's do visit us, especially our loved ones, which is very comforting.
I loved you poem immensley and enjoyed reading it.

    Dear Joy,

They say that spirits occasionally enter into another body, human or animal, usually to perfom some task unfinished in former life.
Although I have had no personal experience of this, your poem covers the possibility very adroitly in an easy free verse style.
Thanks for sharing it in this conbtest. Best of luck in the voting.
Love and hugs, XXX Hugh R.
