In spring when the forests shine,
I wanted to show you my secret spot
--I was working on telling you
A place where seasons never change,
But are always changing
Where gold gilded black wings
Leave feathers--everywhere,
A secret place,
A sacred place,
Only where my soul is found...
You left me with my soul emerging,
I was waiting to tell you...
You left me with green leaves as our melody
I'm not who you think I am
But I wanted to be
I lied, and the lie killed me, even before
You tried
Dreams have started springing
Here and there,
Like tiny saplings likely to grow
Into large forests
Unless I kill them with the shadows of my wood
In autumn we made a promise,
But my promise was not only to you
I swore I would always
Trust you, love you
I find I do it anyway, though I must remind myself
Constantly
That I still love you
And I'm sorry

Beautiful
As always, you are a wonder with words.

Hey, I really liked this poem. Beautiful and sad. My favorite lines were:
"You left me with my soul emerging,
I was waiting to tell you...
You left me with green leaves as our melody
I'm not who you think I am"
Good write.
