Are you, holding an image inside your head?
A picture, expressing all those things,
We'd love to do, before we're dead?
Are your ears burnt raw by the sound,
Of all the hurtful things they said?
Did the means (or the need to be mean)
Justify the vicious ends?
I didn't think so,
I didn't think twice
About our intentions;
Where did our morals go?
Hard like ice
A choice you might not like
Sometimes the only way
Lies in fading away..
When life turns gray
Cruelty comes out to play
You can tune out the outside
You'll burn all the brighter
On the inside, burning alive..
Does a stick of red ever have a home?
Or do the catalysts of beauty,
Always die, disfigured and alone?
Do the tools decide,
The roles of their lives,
Or are they kept in silk chains,
Fed lies through their veins,
Still dreaming of glory when you throw them
Out to die without a name?
The 'crayons' of our culture
Are really our shame..
When blame is a game,
We strive to hide what we couldn't tame,
The lonely ones strike out, searching for fame,
We try to find them, looking in vain,
They've already been dissolved into the rain.

Oh wow. Great stuff, sir. Congrats on not being cheesy. That's too easy to do with this kind of theme. Or any poetry, really.
J'aime "Did the means justify the vicious ends?"
