catgut sutures

catgut sutures--

ripped raw in brittle leak

     drip

          and

               drop

plinking tunes to shuffled feet,

as cotton flakes of snow in wad

to stuff relief

gaping chasm rent by welcome thief,

as he saunters calmly in repose

               to steal--

another heart

The imagery is very raw here, though I'll admit to being a little ignorant as to what this is most likely about. I'll draw my own conclusions, though, and continue on by saying the final lines are what really struck me the most, especially the image of sauntering calmly- that matches so well the idea of catguts in the first line.
