I imagine myself in my husband’s arms.
We sit by a lake and watch our children.
Our son, Jordan, splashes in the water,
And my daughter, Kiah, combs her Barbie’s hair.
My son looks at us and runs over.
His dad leans to pick him up.
Swaying him in the air and my daughter,
She waits for her turn to get daddy’s attention.
My husband puts down my son,
Starts chasing my daughter.
The laugh my daughter makes,
It makes me smile.
My son runs to the water,
My daughter after him.
The husband of mine,
Lies next to me and kisses my cheek.
My son runs to us, soaked from head to toe.
He jumps on us.
My daughter, she wraps her tiny arms around me.
I grab her and hold her close.
“Hey Kiah, mommy’s here.”
She laughs and the sound going to her ear.
Jordan looks up at me and smiles.
“Mommy is here” he says.
Kiah is taken out of my arms, where Jordan is replaced.
We walk back to our car, and buckle them in.
I look back in to my children’s glowing eyes.
My husband climbs in the driver’s seat,
As where I get comfort in the passenger.
My husband grabs my hand,
He smiles and I laugh.
This is the time of my life.
Please tell me what you think
