Woman

Missing image
I'm nothing that I cannot be
and everything I can
When I walk I take a wayward step
towards forbidden land

There is nothing that I cannot say
as long as it's the truth
When I speak I dream of days now gone
and follies of my youth

In my eyes you'll see a hazel hue
Two molten pools of gold
With my glance I am Medusa
Just one look and you're stone cold

I'm nothing that I cannot be
and everything I can
I am woman, I am moon and sun
I think therefore I am

    bravo

Brilliantly throughout, a short but potent, though playful piece of poetry so very deftly done...repeating the frist stanza made it all perfect! Loved it! bravo... bravo ...bravo

Wow, I can't believe that my mom (co-contest holder) or I didn't comment on this earlier. I'm sorry about that. This an amazing poem. I love how it describes you personally and all other women in America at the same time. It totally deserves the gold. Great Job!

Once again you have created a work of art with your pen and your heart. You speak volumes of truth for the womanhood in all of us women, only most of us don't know how to express that as you do. You are a wonderful artist. Never put your pen to the side, for the world would miss an extraordinary poetress if you do. Your friend in Poetry, Mysty Rain

Nice work baby bun, it has such a strong but calm voice to it. some of the lines marginally awkward but overall a good write with a very strong last line.

    Excellent

What a wonderfully positive and inspirational series of poetic declarations of independence. I love how this is based on the essential you of the present and the future, and not so much on the baggage of the past, and what others might have said you are or wanted you to be. Another tremendous poem from your passionate pen. Best of luck in the contest!
