Promises of forever
All die with a single whisper
The telltale pause
The screaming silence
Even the way your eyes...
Just kind of slide away
I know you feel it too
The regret for what we couldn’t keep
The desire to go back to the beginning
But maybe it’s too late
And maybe it’s too soon
Maybe I’m too naive
Maybe I’m just a little insane
Maybe I catch you later
At another time and place
And we can try again
Start over
In a place where nothing dies

Well, this is a universal feeling, isn't it? How often those of us who have gone deeply within ourselves know that we would love to try again but know at the same time that it never seems to work out that way. Or at least not the way we imagined it to be. Thank you for entering the contest.

Yeah...all the maybe's of this time called life and love... maybe in that place where nothing dies there won't be any maybe's. Lovely poetry.
