Ways Of Being Heard - Silver

Missing image
Said Owl to Eagle:

How shall we make our mark
here where man has forgotten
simple skills of hearing
what we were sent to say?

It was heard by Wind.

Said Eagle to Owl:

I have stories to tell,
things I have seen,
a way of beginnings,
how do I speak them?

It was heard by Water.

Said Owl:

I have eerie tales of endings,
things to warn about,
things to inspire,
how will they know my message?

It was heard by Fire.

Said Owl and Eagle:
How can we leave our legacy
Creator meant for us to give
to those who have stopped hearing
spirit in our voices?

It was heard by Stone.

Author notes

I take what I know and make it meet another way of being told....

I enjoyed this poem, congratulations for second place. I love the images that you use, and the message that you give. I wasn't exactly sure what the 'it was heard by....' meant though, so if you could enlighten me i would be very appriciative!
    Well don

It means earth, wind, water, fire heard and carved the knowing in stone so we would not forget the stories and wisdom that comes from our ancients.

What a great take on this photo, I love it! It is well true that most have lost the way of hearing what is all around us. Nicely done, and thanks for entering!

ty so much for this contest. It is the beginning, of a series, for a Japanese English Immersion School. It will be illustrated by my daughter-in-law's brother who is a magnificient artist. There are five that have been on this site and each will find its way to be in the collection.
