In this state of quality
Am I greater that the whole
Of my sum
Does my value equal my performance
Or is my performance my value
Who is to say what is my worth
Who determines what is ordinary
Whose choice is the mundane
Is my customary condition
Enough
To overcome the mediocrity
That can settle in life?

This is a very post-modern thought that transcends time. Do we control our futures or do our futures contol us? That dichotomy is something that all generations face like a bullfighter in the arena.
The title is very effective in this because it lets the reader know right off the bat that the possibility of a cause in the writing is ever prevalent.
The whole idea of the control of what we live and who we are is something that we all struggle with and so it's relatable on a large ground and so it holds credibility.
Thanks for entering my contest and good luck. -
Some interesting thoughts there, ma'am. We have lots of values I guess, to different folks and about different things. Is our value the sum of all of those, or the highest single value - or none of the above. And, whether we like it or not, we have a value to everyone we come into contact with, and some others besides. Kinda scary sometimes.
