What's the matter?
Are you scared?
Britain, do you not care?
Do you not care about those people?
They’re going through torture and pain,
Through separation and a government,
That doesn’t care who they’re killing.
Britain, do you not care?
Families have been exiled,
Never to return until the leader is dead,
Never to go home to their fatherlands,
Never to speak the same language, to one another.
Britain, do you not care?
The police have to do what they’re told,
Or they die too,
If they don’t follow orders,
They die with the rest.
Britain, do you not care?
That the police at customs search everyone’s baggage,
And take whatever they like,
You don’t question them,
Because if you do,
You get killed.
Britain, do you not care?
He’s killing people everyday,
Do you not care until they kill a white person?
Then will you act? Then will you destroy?
The government that’s torn Zimbabwe apart?
Then let it be me,
If it means they can rest in peace,
And have freedom, as it should be.

I Like It
I like the graphics in this poem. I can honestly say I had no idea this was happening, so I thank you for giving me this information. I especially like the repetition of "Britain, do you not care?" Well done. -
there are some very strong points.
this is one of them.
Through separation and a government,
That doesn’t care who they’re killing.in this write.
-
whata powerful write written with such thought and some provoking things that really captures the readers mind to think. I thought that the repition of the first line of each stanza was a litte over used but the poem holds dep and powerful emotion as wel as a strong message that something needs to be done to prevenet and stop the situation. well done with this piece.

wow
I do not know what is going on in Zimbabwe, but this poem makes me sad. You have portrayed your angst and sadness toward the government very well! I love it! I love the recurring theme of "Britain, do you care?" It is clear to me from your poem that they do not care nearly enough. Thank you for entering and good luck!
