What am I?

I close my eyes,
and feel my soul
slowly slip away.
I slip into
the things around me,
and listen to
what they have to say.

I'm a songbird,
gliding on the breeze,
I see a tree close by me,
and slide into the leaves.

I'm the tree,
old and firm and strong.
My roots reach deep
into the earth,
here I can do no wrong.

I'm the earth,
ageless, timeless,
needed and used,
and sometimes abused,
but still there for
all my children.

I'm an ant,
sifting through the sand,
I must avoid being seen,
must hide from the
giant man.

I'm a dog,
running by my master's side.
I feel the love he gives me,
as we jog together,
on the beach each day.

I'm the ocean,
crushingly strong,
deceivingly beautiful.
Dangerous, and yet,
un resistibly alluring.

I'm the seagull,
flying by the coast,
I see a small park down there,
and stop to rest my wings.

I am the little girl,
sitting under the tree,
I open my eyes,
take a look around,
and this is what I see.

A seagull sits beside me,
a songbird in the leaves,
an ant crawls all over me,
a dog runs by,
going home with is owner.

I hear the crushing surf,
just a little ways away,
this is my Earth,
and I am here to stay.

Please tell me what you think
