Anticipation built a castle of dreams
Hope, anxiety battled across the ramparts
Weaving a tapestry of mixed emotion
Preparing the annexation of my heart
The bitterness of loss swept clean
Coronation of the Prince commenced
Tears, long forgotten, flowed once more
Declaring the intensity of my emotion
Baptizing the new life I already adore
My lips brushed the brow of innocence
Author notes
You may do what you please with this, the memory of the birth of my son Ethan in January of 2003, is still so fresh and vivid. Children are such a blessing, may you fall desperately in love with Aiden, and never look back. Congratulations!
