Visitation Parts The Veil - HM

Missing image
She speaks and veil moves softly so I can hear
song of simple wisdom I need to know
no snuff of candle or mist-heavy kind of fear,
just sense of kiss on skin and soft and gentle blow.

No purse of lips, no flashing eyes,
no acrid smell or deep base boom.
no face to watch for shift of guise,
no cold, no fire entered room.

She enetered through my heart,
time stood still while soul was fed
like touch of sun behind clouds’ part;
a gentle brush on hair of head.

Her ancient story and old drum song
threaded my breath, my blood, my vein
and I am drug, or pushed or led along
to remember once again.

Memories haunt more than any traditional ghost ever will, and in this case, the haunting does more to assuage the hurt of those memories.

I like how you've approached the contest, I think it's far more realistic than maybe the traditional "Here's a ghost, see the ghost" approach.

Someone said that ghost stories were scary, but you prove them wrong. How lovely to receive guidance gently and quietly. Good luck Carol.

    Dear Carol,

Brute force can never tear this veil asunder
nor pleading will these folds e'er separate.
You stand on earth while we, the dead, lie under -
our spirits far above through Heaven's gate.

But, if you hear our voices in the breeze,
or feel our tears upon your cheek in rain,
or, if your dreaming eye our vision sees,
know then, that we have come to you again.

Though, temporarily. we may be parted,
yet, in His mercy, God in Heaven above,
will part the veil to comfort the downhearted
and let us visit those we truly love.

Though force nor pleading ever can avail,
a loving thought of us may part the veil.

Carol, I delayed commenting on your poem because it moved me deeply in a very personal way. I have been blessed by visitations of my children, mother and grandmother since they died. Your poem touches this for me and, as I wanted to give you tribute for it, I waited until my above sonnet had clarified in my mind.
Thankyou for a great poem and for sharing it.
Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh R.

Thank you, dear Sire. It is a choice experience and I do believe they come whether we are worthy or not. I am so blessed today, a Mother's Day that is not filled with grief, because I was blessed with two mothers and one who is turning 90 this July. How my adoptive Mother must have had a hand in this finding. She, of anyone, knew my heart's loneliest place.
Thank you for this lovely tribute back. What a fine man you are.

This speaks so gently of the spirits who around us, helping, protecting, barely known to us, sometimes not known at all, we don't even realize they're here.

I love your poem, a delightful bit of spiritual enlightenment

    Good luck in the contest

    Dee

Yes, I am one who hears and sees sweet things in breezes, bark, stone, a flower, anything that reminds me of my dearly departed and yet so necessisarily here.

    Dear Carol,
I love your poem very much.
It's interesting when a spirit enters ones body and they show such amazing visions of how the world was created.
    Wonderfully written.
    Jen.

It is true. I have experienced some amazing things in my traditional ceremonies as well...even those I did not know have a way, if needs be, to teach me.
