A thousand soulful eyes in a sad, sunken face.
A desperate plight in this lost forsaken place.
My dreams are haunted by their unmet need
Unheard voices, of so few, for many plead.
They lived small lives, and did no one harm
They tried to raise children on a small farm.
Their crops failed, and guns drove them away.
Starvation shadows them, day after day.
Old and young, all alike, pay the price of death
Parents watch as children take their final breath.
A thousand soulful eyes look out from one mass grave.
Seeking help from the land of the free, and the brave.
Will we stand together, and reach into their plight,
grab reaching hands and pull them out of the fight?
Will we suffer children to be victims of it all,
or can we stand and answer the soulful eyes call?

well done, i felt it was a little wordy, but it didn't take anything away from your piece. This had a nice flow to it. A very sad but strong message. Well done!
